Kotaku just had an interesting news blurb whereas Epic games just announced UDK 3 can be used by mod developers for free. I think this is a really cool move on Epic Games part because it allows mod makers to release nice games for public consumption w/o requiring their consumers to purchase Unreal Tournament 3.
So I’m having a blast working on our current game. Working on games is always fun of course. But I’m really excited about the current game we’re working on. The talent pool around Austin is full of talented people and we’ve been interviewing people to fill all of our current positions.
Internet wise I haven’t had much time to spend online lately. Yep, such is the life of a game developer I suppose. Once our title gets much closer towards launching I’ll be spending sometime on our official forums of course. I’ll be answering any questions within my capacity, banning trolls, and etc. But being a Programmer, my interaction with the public is pretty limited though. But whatever time I have to leave the cave and poke my head out I’ll try to take in a lot more fan feedback.
I have been keeping up with my watch list though. There are a few games that I got on preorder. And yeah, this isn’t for research- its for pure fun.
Yeah sadly I probably won’t have much time for blogging or writing very many articles in the upcoming months. But I’ve covered all the topics that’s interested me I guess. I will be writing some more tutorials on C++ programming though. There are a lot of topics I’d love to cover.
Found some interesting vids for Star Wars BF2. I got the urge to play a good scifi PVP game so thought about installing this gem on my new computer. Also been playing Eternal Silence mod for Half Life 2 which has been a blast
Haters are like roaches, you just can’t shake them. I’ve seen some sites where they exist purely to burn; nothing positive. These are sad places where the lowest of the low congregate. Always avoid those if you want to be productive!
What the killer is hating never solves anything or helps anyone get ahead. I’ve made a few predictions here and there about people that have been really hateful and pretty much all of my predictions have come to pass. In this life, we choose blessings or curses. Choose Life and have it more abundantly
Been looking for other space sims to play on the side. Heresy War was featured on gamedev.net today. Hope to get a chance to play the demo tomorrow it looks pretty interesting
So weird this morning I thought about Robert Aspirin and his old Myth Adventure books. I can’t remember fine details atm but I recall really loving this series. In this book, magic was spread out over the universe in the form of ‘power lines’ that only wizard’s can see. If a planet does not have any power lines, then a Wizard has no power source to fuel his/her powers. I might go try to order these books it will be like reading a brand new fiction since I was a kid when I first read them
