Watched a few episodes of Wakfu anime and thought that was pretty cool. I noticed someone suggested I should list the Wakfu MMORPG in the sandbox section. I’ll check it out. But anyway, my first impression is that it doesn’t qualify due to the presence of a rigid Class structure and so forth. but still looks cool!
Taikodom is a game I’ll be adding to my list of space games however, since it seems to ofc fit into that genre quite nicely
Spellborn has been gaining speed recently and has announced a shipping date in North America around November 27. It recently received an award for most innovative fantasy based MMORPG as well due to its unique combat system and AI. I’m sure the freedom to design what your avatar wears also helped though (guess).
Darksiders has also been getting a lot of nice attention lately at PAX 2008 earning a lot of favorable comparisons to The Legend of Zelda and God of War
Played through Crysis Warhead and beat the single player campaign. That was a lot of fun
Got a creature I’m currently working on in Spore. I’ve been taking my time, plowing through the Creature stage as a carnivore. Tempted to restart and try to become an omnivore…
Make sure you guys keep an eye on C&C: Red Alert 3. I did some programming work on the title before leaving to work with THQ. As usual, I am going to be tight lipped for the time being. And yeah, I’ll be in the credits for that too along with LOTR: BFME II / C&C 3
So that will be 3 titles shipped with Electronics Arts although obviously I won’t be around to this one ship like the other 2
So beat Too Human last weekend with bout 15 hours clocked in. Beat Soul Calibur IV single player mode using a few different characters…. Right now working on Lost Odyssey when I get time to play. Played Ninja Gaiden II a bit but only had time to get past the first level. Trying to knock out a few titles before Spore and all the other craziness hits. But it appears I won’t be done with my current mountain of games in time.
Got Mercenaries 2 on the way should hopefully get here in the mail shortly….
This is really a sweet time for gamers. There are so many nice looking titles to look forward too
Just beat SW: Knights of The Old Republic. Was a great game I thought. I never got a chance to play when it originally came out and everytime I went to the store I saw SW: KOTR 2 on the shelves instead of the first one. Finally I got my hands on both the xbox and PC versions and played both. Ended up switching from the xbox to PC version though because I got tired of dealing with the strange sound issues I kept having (not sure if it was a bad port or my xbox 360).
So luckily I found a saved game online that was close to where I was minus 2-3 hours and was able to use a Utility to modify my saved game to alter the savegame to match my character. I beat the game as Light side. Clocked in 50 hours according to the saved game file so in reality it was probably around 60 hours, ouch! This was pretty much the only game I played non-stop was very engrossing
I must admit DCU is looking pretty good these days. What is especially interesting is the fact you can aim and do realtime dodging. They are focusing on console action gaming rather then traditional dice roll MMO.
DCU doesn’t sound too bad actually in this gamespot interview. Nice to see a lot of Classless MMOs in the works finally. I’m still willing to bet Champions Online may possibly offer the more complex hero creation system though. Still, DCU sounds very interesting with the inclusion of Havok physics and possibly friendly fire as well!
Interesting ran into a lot of promotional material for space combat sims at youtube. Arvorch, Nexus, X3 reunion, freespace 2, and a few others look pretty good. Also thought about trying that Asian mmo Age of Armor but most likely will try to take break from MMOs and just play some good space shooters.
